The Master in Health Economics is a comprehensive two-year programme designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and skills in health economics. The programme is structured to provide a deep understanding of the economic aspects of healthcare systems, policymaking, Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and data analysis. The programme comprises 120 ECTS credits and includes a total of 760 contact hours, with 510 hours allocated to core courses and 250 hours dedicated to practical experience and projects. The mode of delivery is face-to-face, incorporating lectures, tutorials, and computer laboratory sessions, with English as the language of instruction.

By the end of the programme, students will be able to analyse and critically evaluate health economics within both global and national markets. They will develop the ability to collect and interpret complex healthcare datasets using advanced quantitative methods, and design and conduct comparative economic evaluations of health programmes and treatments. The programme equips students with the skills to apply advanced theoretical knowledge of health economics to assess the behaviour of key healthcare stakeholders. Additionally, students will be prepared to undertake original, ethical, and high-quality research in the field, and to demonstrate project management capabilities in both professional and academic research contexts.
The Master in Health Economics programme is a two-year course designed to provide students with advanced expertise in the field of health economics. In the first year, students establish a solid academic foundation through modules in data science, applied econometrics, biostatistics, health systems, and health technology assessment. They also participate in research-based learning and practical assignments, concluding the year with a mini thesis. The second year focuses on more specialised areas, including panel data modelling, machine learning, health systems performance, Hospital Economics, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), budget impact and cost of illness analyses, and global health economics. Students apply their learning by completing a master thesis project, tackling real-world health economics challenges. Throughout the programme, students develop a robust understanding of health market dynamics, gain proficiency in managing complex healthcare datasets, and acquire the analytical tools needed to inform policy-making, making them well-prepared for diverse roles in the healthcare sector.
