"UMass Boston prepares students exceptionally well for the job market through a combination of rigorous coursework, hands-on projects, and strong career services. The Career Services team offers resume workshops, mock interviews, and networking events with top employers. Personally, I’ve attended career fairs, used Handshake to connect with recruiters, and participated in resume-building sessions. The program also offers specialized workshops that prepare students for career fairs, focusing on effective communication strategies and building confidence when engaging with employers. In addition, I am part of the Women Beacon in Workplace program, which is designed to empower women and girls by connecting them with alumni mentors. This program has been transformative; it provides guidance, builds confidence, and helps participants grow both academically and professionally. Through mentorship and networking opportunities, I’ve gained valuable insights into career development and leadership, which have strengthened my readiness for the job market."
