Programme Info

Barcelona GSE Master’s programs are nine-months long and taught in English and lead to three different official degrees:

Master’s Degree in Economics and Finance

The Economics Program provides rigorous training for admission to top doctoral programs and for technically demanding careers.

The Finance Program will prepare you for the most demanding jobs in banking, consulting, and asset management.

 

Master’s Degree in Specialized Economic Analysis

In the Competition Program, you will acquire an advanced understanding of the interaction between theory and practice as well as the qualifications necessary for solid placement in the field.

The Economics of Public Policy Program will prepare you for analytical positions at public institutions, international organizations, consulting firms, research institutions, and think tanks.

ITFD provides rigorous training in the economics of international finance, trade, and development for students interested in demanding professional careers and doctoral programs.

Macro Program graduates acquire the skills demanded by consulting firms, investment banks, and government agencies.

 

Master’s Degree in Data Science

The Data Science Program will prepare you to design and build data-driven systems for decision-making in the private or public sector.  

 

Accreditation 

All Barcelona GSE master degrees have been recognized by the Catalan and Spanish Education authorities within the framework of the Bologna Process (in Spanish, “Master Universitario o Master Oficial”).

▪ GRE exam is highly recommended, but not mandatory

Costs

Application fee:  €60

Tuition fee: €16,000 for all programs (excluding Data Science)

Data Science Program: €18,000

The Barcelona GSE offers financial aid based on academic merit. Last year, 36% of students were offered financial support.

The financial support that is available to students includes:

  • Waivers for 100%, 75%, 50% and 25% of the tuition fees
  • Teaching assistantships
  • Fully-funded scholarships

While applications are open until June 25, 2018 preference in funding will be given to candidates who apply before January 15, 2018

Over 2000 Barcelona GSE Alumni are currently working or continuing their education in more than 70 countries worldwide.

In the three most recent cohorts of BGSE graduates, 74% have chosen professional professional career paths, while 26% chose to continue their education in a PhD program or other post-graduate study.

Professional career paths

The alumni who chose a professional career path are working as Economists, Analysts, Researchers or Consultants in industries such as banking and financial institutions, international organizations, consultancies, research institutions or the public sector. This provides the alumni with an international and growing professional network from which they can benefit.

Academic career paths

In parallel, a significant percentage of our alumni enter competitive PhD programs in Europe, the United States or elsewhere, providing an important network in academia. Alumni from all years and master programs have shown great commitment with Barcelona GSE and have helped us in developing new corporate relations with their respective industries and universities.
