The Institute of Executive Capabilities (IEC) is part of Steinbeis University (SUB), which was founded in 1998 as a private, state-approved university based in Berlin. The mission of SUB is to making its students and their companies more competitive by strengthening the links between the scientific and the economic worlds. This objective is not limited to the teaching or application of knowledge and expertise. The SUB concept is built on a commitment to part-time, project-driven competence development: Its students engage in projects with their companies or organizations to apply their studies and insights into their real-life business.
The IEC offers you coaching and tutoring during your studies. You will have an opportunity to discuss and get advice on current questions of practice and science relating to your studies. Our concept of Project Competence Studies is meant to develop the competences and skills that are relevant in modern organizations by means of a unique study concept (e.g. support for self-management and team working skills) and by combining scientific research and practice. The practical relevance of the studies is guaranteed by the study project that forms part of the degree course. Teaching methods include lectures, practice elements such as case studies, student presentations and group discussions. The flexible design of the course makes the degree a particularly suitable choice for students in employment. You can study alongside your normal job in a combination of self-guided studies and classroom sessions.
