Established more than 85 years ago, the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) has always been on the forefront of education and research. Our University has produced by far the largest number of industry leaders, entrepreneurs and managers and has thus played a key role in the development of the country. At the same time, AUEB is privileged to have excellent faculty. Enjoying the best reputation in Greece, and having developed a strong research orientation, AUEB attracts faculty who have previously been on the faculties of some of the best schools internationally, like Wharton, Columbia, London School of Economics, Cambridge, INSEAD, London Business School, Fuqua, and others. In addition, renowned scientists and political figures, including Nobel Prize winners in Economics, have been awarded Honorary Degrees from AUEB.
In 1978 Athens University of Economics and Business founded its first two master’s programs. Over the following years, and especially during the period 1990-2005, postgraduate studies at AUEB grew substantially and, as a result, approximately 45% of its incoming students annually are now postgraduates. Today, AUEB offers 27 postgraduate programs, either at the MSc or the MBA level, both full time and part time for business executives.

The duration of graduate studies at the Master's level is between 12-27 months. Students are admitted to these programs after satisfying certain admission criteria such as results at the GMAT or GRE tests, proficiency of English (and maybe another language), academic performance at the undergraduate level, work experience (mainly for the MBA as well as the part time programs), etc. Graduate students may receive scholarships or assistantships. All programs offer different specializations, allowing students to put together a customized program that fulfils their professional objectives and interests. Moreover AUEB, through its Career Office, provides job placement to its graduate students, through personalized planning and support, and by offering liaisons with high-profile employers in an international job market.
